FAQ'S

Everything you need to know about permanent makeup-up

Permanent makeup is a technique which an artist tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup  It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows  particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia totalischemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and hypopigmentation in the skin such as in vitiligo. that creates natural, beautiful brows. This is also perfect for anyone who has over tweezed or wants to define, darken or reshape their eyebrows. Annual refreshers are recommended to keep the brows shape and color.

Micro-pigmentation and semi-permanent makeup both refer to the tattooing of makeup. Cosmetic tattooing is the process of micro-pigmentation, which is done by implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin. We use tiny, sterile, disposable needles to create the appearance of hair strokes, natural makeup, or an enhancement of the client's existing features. We CAN NOT guarantee results for anyone. We CANNOT guarantee results for anyone. One touch up is highly recommended for most cosmetic tattoo services, but some people require an additional touch to achieve the desired result, and will be charged accordingly. Cosmetic tattoo services are not intended to replace makeup but to enhance ones natural features and beauty.

What is PhiBrows

PhiBrows is a manual skill of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing. The shape of the brow is calculated to the golden ratio (phi 1.618) and the face morphology. Using the Phibrows application, symmetry is always reassessed.

Microblading

Microblading is done by manually inserting pigment into the upper layer of the skin (epidermis) using a fine needle to give the brows fullness and shape. This is done via manual blade so hair like strokes are sharp and crisp. Microblading does not penetrate the dermis making the procedure semi-permanent, similar to a tattoo. Microblading is not necessarily intended to replace makeup as the technique allows for a more natural look. Microblading lasts 8-18 months after touch-up appointment.

Powder Brows

Powder brows give a soft powdery finish that looks like you've just powdered your brows in (hence the name). Using a cosmetic tattoo machine, hundreds of tiny dots or (pixels) of pigment are implanted into the skin which resembles a soft powder finish.
Annual refreshers are recommended to keep the brows shape and color.

Combo Brows

This is also another choice, combining the art of both semi-permanent makeup techniques together to achieve the most natural looking result. While Microblading resembles the brow hair, shading serves as a powdery background if certain hair does not take by the skin. Shading can create an ombre effect with the tail to mid eyebrows being darker and slowly transition to lighter as it moves towards the front, creating a super natural look of filled-in brows without making them look tattooed.
Annual refreshers are recommended to keep the brows shape and color.

Treatment

Hair strokes are always drawn in the direction of the natural hair growth to achieve a realistic look. Where as pixels are gently dispersed across the whole brow to create either a full on powder look or more of an ombre effect. Treatment is performed with the highest standards using disposable sterile tools. Correction is done 6-8 weeks after the treatment to perfect any fading or pigment that may have not taken.

Pigment

The pigments used in cosmetic tattooing come in a variety of colors that are formulated with iron oxide, which is an ingredient that is safe for the skin. We do not use pigments made from organic ingredients, such as vegetables, being how they have a high risk of carrying bacteria and causing allergic reactions. Because the color is implanted just underneath the dermal layer of the skin, the resulting shade is soft and muted, unlike regular cosmetic makeup that sits on the surface of the skin.

PhiBrow pigment is exclusively made for Microblading and allows easy application and excellent color retention. The main advantage of using PhiBrow pigment is that you are not exposed to heavy toxic metals, that usually can be found in the micro blading pigment. PhiBrows pigment is vegan and contains no Tartazine (a highly allergic artificial coloring additive).

Other high quality pigment are available and used that have an ISO 13485 medical device level certification to ensure your results are as safe. Following FDA GMP and strict EU guidelines.

Does Cosmetic Tattooing Hurt?

We use a combination of very effective anesthetics that are selected based on your specific procedure. It's our goal to make the client as comfortable as possible with each service. Even with that in mind, each person has a different level of pain tolerance. While there may still be a level of discomfort, it is typically minimal.

What should I do before my eyebrow appointment?

Feel free to bring in or text photos that show the shape and color you prefer. You may also come in with your eyebrows filled in as you normally would if you would like us to see how you wear them daily. Just know that we will still use the techniques we were taught to give you the most flattering shape and color for your face. If you regularly wax, shape, thread, or tint your eyebrows, please do so at least 1 week before your procedure in order to reduce the likelihood of sensitive or irritated skin during your appointment.

What should I NOT do before my eyebrow appointment?

Please do not take any blood thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Niacin, fish oil, etc) within 24-48 hours of your appointment. Excessive bleeding can cause the pigment not to take. Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed the night before, or the day of your appointment. Please also avoid sun and tanning bed exposure 30 days before, and 30 days after your procedure.

What factors can affect my cosmetic tattoo?

Sun exposure can cause the pigment to fade quicker, so sun block is recommended in prolonging your enhancement. The regeneration of skin cells will also affect how long the pigment holds. The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment will hold. The slower your skin absorbs the pigment, the longer the pigment will hold. Your choice of color will also have an affect. For example, blonde color will fade quicker than a dark brown color. Any bleeding during the procedure will also reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Also NOT following the proper pre-care and after care can affect the outcome.

How will I look immediately after my procedure?

Once the procedure is completed, your permanent makeup will appear much darker and more intense than it will once it has healed. Redness and swelling during the procedure are a rare occurrences but may happen and will require no down time after the procedure is complete. Cosmetic tattoos take anywhere from 7-14 days to heal. No makeup, facial soaps or lotions on the tattooed areas for those 7-14 days in order to keep the area from getting infected, irritated, or cause the pigment to fade any more than it already will. The pigment tends to fade anywhere from 20% to 30% for eyebrows, they will also soften and fade as they heal.

How long does cosmetic tattooing last?

Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered permanent, and will not wash off. However, the natural exfoliation of our skin will cause it to fade over time. Touch ups are standard for cosmetic tattoos. This is why we highly recommend one  touch up with your eyebrow appointment. Necessary touch ups thereafter will vary from person to person. Pigment typically lasts 1-3 years.

How will my tattoo look in the future?

During your appointment, we will closely look at your skin's undertone to anticipate how the pigment color will look in the future. We will also mix pigments to ensure color remains in the same tone. The majority of our clients' cosmetic tattoos stay true to color. There are some cases in which colors may fade to different tones due to an individual's response to certain pigments. At your touch up appointment, we will re-analyze how your body has responded to the initial color, and arrange a special formula alteration to correct the color in effort to prevent further color change in the future.
